This is a collection of bits and bobs. Most are things I shared in Discord, some are too short for a tumblr post.

Shadows
Wyra’li picked up the black and red stone off the table. Mehra was digging through her pack, desperately trying to locate something. Unlike the other job stones he’d seen in his travels, this one whispered to him.
It didn’t whisper in words. Just the soft susurrus of voices in lowered speech. He was curious and fairly certain that nothing his twin carried could harm him. Much.
Holding the stone didn’t resolve the whispers, but Wyra’li did catch a new shadow form behind Mehra. The specter loomed over her seated form and Wyra’li realized that he could see outline of the spectral double that she called upon in combat.
Despite his discrete scrutiny, the specter turned and pinned Wyra’li with a familiar blue-green gaze. His own look didn’t waver and the eyes of the specter crinkled in a smile. The shadows that shrouded the figure cleared for a moment.
It wasn’t Mehra, nor was it Wyra’li. But it looked like both of them. It brought a finger up to its lips in a request for silence. Then it winked at him and faded out of sight.
What are you wearing? // It's laundry day!
Shimera- doesn’t plan. Wears whatever is least dirty. In dire situations has had to borrow “least dirty” articles of clothing from Chiori/Tris. (Her romantic partners have not had to deal with this yet.)
Tris- plans. The articles of clothing he can’t repair he keeps in a special drawer (or the bottom of his pack). He’ll put together a laundry day outfit from those and put what he wears in the next “dirty pile”.
Chiori- plans. After all laundry is done, she picks out her next laundry day ‘fit and bundles that up in a special tenugui for next time.
Wyra’li- doesn’t plan. Usually does laundry when he pulls out his last clean set of clothes.
Sely- kind of plans? She wears her pajamas until laundry is done.
Pebble- plans. Wears his armor. Always.
Kukupoki- plans. Has 2 spare black robes hidden in his pack. No one has seen him wash them, but they always appear clean and fresh (can black magic do that?).
Styrnlona- plans. Has a set day to do laundry so she’s never having to wear something ridiculous.
Adya- plans? No one has seen him do laundry. But he’s so fastidious he surely must?
Taro- doesn’t plan. Will run around in boxers. (His lack of shame make the Domans peg him as Lominsan, through they never say anything to him.)
Tiny- doesn’t plan. No shame. Will run around in bloomers and tanktop while doing laundry.
Lucky Charms
Shimera- her hat. Though most don’t realize that it’s an amalgam of various lucky charms (which grows and morphs based on her travels). Some items include: a pink ribbon from Feo Ul, Kiwi’s feathers, a plain gold ring several sizes too large for Shimera. Tucked into the inner band, there is an edelweiss brooch.
Francel- a small boot knife. Plain and practical in appearance, but well made. It was a gift from Haurchefant. He’s never used it, but swears his worst days coincide with leaving it at home.
G’raha- has spent so long working hard to get where he is; luck sometimes feels like a foreign concept. Does not have one and is sheepish when asked.
Tris- a necklace. It seems ordinary- almost kitschy. Plain silver chain of cheap make that clashes with the warm undertone of his skin. Three things hang from the chain: a larimar bead, a circular pendant stamped with Halone’s spears, and a gold and enamel acorn.
Estinien- his spear. He wouldn’t call it a lucky charm, but his unwavering faith in it and refusal to use another weapon say otherwise.
Aymeric- a small wooden dragon. He likes to worry it in his hands when he’s strategizing. Lucia has noticed that after Nidhogg’s defeat he replaced it with a newer one.
Chiori- a small woven bracelet. The colors are faded and stained, but close examination show they were once bold and of a palette not common to Eorzea. It’s been repaired multiple times.
Wyra’li- luck died a long time ago. Or so he thought. Has not had a lucky charm since he was much younger. It was a Gelmorran coin Mehra had found; he still carries it to this day.
Sely- believes in luck, but not charms. Performs a “luck ritual” before major battles/events.
Wandering Pebble- a small pebble worn in a pouch around his neck. Has flecks of gold in it. Or pyrite.
Kukupoki- a miniature Vodoriga said to be carved from the horn of one. Kept in a small pouch on his belt.
Styrnlona- deck of astrologian cards. A family heirloom that has never failed.
Adya- small horse carved out of jade. Stored in a finely woven pouch and hidden in a secret pocket he sews into all his shirts.
Taro- a plain gold ring on a braided leather necklace. The ring is several sizes too small for him.
Tiny- her first versatile lure, crafted into an earring after the hook broke off.
Favorite Scents
Shimera's is from a memory. A particular blend of spices as dinner cooks over a campfire. There's also the smell of sun-warmed leather & the Shroud in summer layered underneath.
Francel is easy - his mother's favorite perfume. Shimera starts re-creating small batches of it for the Haillenarte family once she reverse-engineers it.
G'raha will say the smell of old paper when asked. However, he's recently found the smell of machine oil to be inexplicably comforting.
Tris is another layered smell: sea salt, sunshine, and ale. It's really whatever the Drowning Wench smells like on a warm spring day.
Estinien strikes me as another memory person: warm dried grasses in summer. It's a smell he doesn't realize he likes or misses until he visits the Steppe.
Aymeric is surrounded by all sorts of smells; from the practical to the luxurious. It's hard to pick a favorite... especially when he can't remember one and the other is constantly changing...
Chiori is hard to pin down. For a long time everyone thinks its florals (esp jasmine). But the first time the Crew visits Radz-at-Han, Shimera notices the deep breath Chiori takes when they visit the bazaar.
Tiny loves the smell of early morning mist & fresh fish.
